Giving Up On Your New Year’s Resolutions Already?

It’s February, that means it has been one month since the beginning of our new year’s resolutions. Unless you have picked something which really interests you and you want to achieve, you have probably already given up or are considering it. And this is completely normal, in fact, according to SunDried.com 43% of people give up just one month after. Research shows that 95% of New Year’s Resolutions are fitness related, but after just 3 months, only 10% of people think their resolution will last.  So, if you are one of the lucky 10% who knows they will be able to stick to it, congratulations. But, if not, you do not have to completely give up on some sort of resolution. We have put together some solutions to giving up, but still allowing you to carry on at a smaller scale.

Create Monthly Resolutions

Unless you have some sort of superpower, the likelihood of you being able to stick to one resolution for the whole of the year with no cheating is very unlikely. So, one of the solutions we have suggested is creating monthly resolutions. These are on a much smaller scale, allowing you to switch and change your goals. They will also allow you to accomplish more throughout the year. Not only that but being able to complete one month of hard work will motivate you to carry onto the next. This will cause an effect where you begin to look forward to the next month’s resolution idea. Having a resolution on a smaller scale will give you a better chance of completing it as you know it will not last long. So, if you are somebody who gets bored easily or knows they cannot stick to the same thing for the whole year, why not try this?

Make Small Changes

Jumping headfirst into a big change is never going to work well, to why not start small? Beginning with small changes and adapting to them will work better, following this you can increase them as time passes. Therefore, we suggest that you start the year with a small change. This could be going to the gym once a week. This way, you are not tiring yourself out and becoming unmotivated. But, as months pass, you will be able to increase the number of times you go to the gym and it will feel natural instead of a forced task.

Choose Tasks With No Time Frame

One of the most common alternatives to new years resolutions is creating a yearly bucket list. Although your aim is to complete all of the tasks on your bucket list before the year ends, you can choose to go at your own pace throughout the year. So, unlike our first example of creating monthly goals, a yearly bucket list can be a list full of 50 goals which you complete whenever you like. You can find plenty of inspiration all over the internet. But, when creating your list, you should ensure that everything can be achieved and does not cause any harm. For example, a lot of people include travelling on their lists. But, if you cannot afford it, you could find yourself in debt. The last thing you want to do is find yourself searching for emergency money and turning to a loan. But, if you have no other option, here at PM Loans we can help.
